So then I guess it raises the question of to a certain degree do we just take these restrictions or complete bans away?
Because I think about for instance smoking, you know, recently we've had a lot of the black market become exposed and how people are easily being able to get black market cigarettes.
So d does it get to a point where we just need to say, Okay, look, you wanna make these choices, go out and do it or does there still need to be some of that balance?
So do we just let people learn from their actions?
But then I also guess it raises the question of, you know, if over time these people are doing you know, they're if they're smoking, if they're eating high amounts of sugar or eating a lot of fast food and that impacts their health over a long period of time.
Later on they might need to go to the hospital to be treated for these things, which then is ended up paying through like taxpayer dollars for instance.
looking to the long term.
Is it better I I guess to put in these implementations so that people stay healthier so that in the long term they don't end up in hospital and and things like that?
Last today we've got Dr.
Hertian Vertic, a senior lecturer of finance at the University of Auckland, explaining why smart people still make bad money decisions.
When people make these decisions, is it just because they're being irrational or aren't th you know, thinking through these decisions?
And so when you're talking about these financial decisions, are you specifically meaning investments?
Are people making these not so wise financial decisions frequently?
Like is that why we need a whole lecture on this?
Doctor Verdict says there are other personal biases that also catch people out.
And what could people do to start recognizing some of those personal biases that they might have?
So where should people start if they want to start consciously making those good financial decisions?
