And yes, you're right.
It's a long-term investment product.
But in reality, it's already a whole-of-life savings product.

So that actually was my favourite part of the policies, even though I wrote about everything else, that was actually my favourite part.
Because all the evidence shows that women's incomes are slightly above men's until childbearing age.
And then women take a big pay penalty and they never catch up.
Not only are they out of work for caring, their career trajectory never returns to what men do.
And so there is this kind of baked in sexism in our labor market.
And to see some signals that we're going to address it, we're going to try and talk about it as mature adults, I think is a really good step in the right direction.
It is.
And that's why I think we should do it gradually and with quite a lot of transparency.
So if people know that it's coming, it's so much easier for them to plan, especially if it happens during a period when the economy is good, wages are rising anyway, so you don't feel it as much.
But I think, again, the pressure is going to be very much on the lower income households for whom they're already living paycheck to paycheck.
And to lose that income is going to be a really big issue.
