So treatment has a huge effect on the individual themselves.
In fact life expectancy goes back to normal if you start dru drugs at the right time.
And as well, treatment it reduces euro infectiousness by ninety six percent.
So the more tr more people on treatment in the community, the less virus that's circulating.

The the uh we know that treatment reduces your infectiousness and uh there are actually a very interesting study came out early this year which um uh called the partner study which showed that your likelihood of transmission in the general community uh is probably
You know, close to zero with some some possibility of transmission.
So the message is we still ad uh tell people that the risk of transmission is not zero and then it becomes an individual's decision whether they're going to use condoms when you when you know your status and your you you're on treatment.
Yeah, I guess you've you've talked about treatment that we can use in three different ways to block transmission.
First of all, treating someone that's infected.
benefits their health and reduces transmission.
That is um definitely a cost effective strategy.
The debate is
Yes, you're doing two things at one time and that person needs treatment.
The there's there's su there's some debate at when you start treatment.
In some countries you start treatment straight away, in other countries you wait.
Uh peop the recommendation is to wait until there's some damage to the immune system.
But pretty much the you're doing two things at the one time.
