Sorry.
As a parent, I'm like extremely um in person, just like very passionate about this idea of tying things back into our values as well as moving through those hard moments.
So instead of that, like don't be nervous, we might say it makes sense that you're feeling nervous.
Starting school is a big transition.
Mm-hmm.
Um, we can do this together.
Or pop it or something.
And like it seems so silly.
Like when I was reading the this uh get out of your mind into your life book a long time ago.
Yeah.
Uh it was it would say things like tell your brain, like, thanks for the thought brain, let's move along.
And I was like, Well, that's not gonna work.
And it's actually amazing.
Your brain does kind of take the feedback, which is fascinating.
like externalizing really the feelings and even with my three year old today right like I'm trying to I don't know trying to throw everything out there all my strategies to get out the door and so he's only three I was like your brain is telling you that you're not safe right but you're safe right now you come here every day yeah mommy will be back yeah go and find something that you want to do you know tell your brain I'm safe right um and so we do I try and do it and I think it helps
Like uh my other son is quite sensitive.
Um and so I find if you sort of externalize and you talk about, oh, your brain is doing that.
Doing that.
Right.
Um, then it helps externalize the problem rather than blaming him for doing something.
