So our investors pre-IPO, our kind of last stage private equity investor was Satori Capital out of Dallas, and who you know well.

and they were big and are big proponents of conscious capitalism and said hey we really want you to read this and check it out and get in you know and and come to this conference with us this this fall and i think this was back in like 2016-17 and so we did and in fact uh to this day it's one of our required readings at lovesack so we have a few required readings

And one of them for our leadership now is Conscious Capitalism, the book.

And it has been fundamental to who we've become.

Because besides the business model that I just sort of unpacked for you haphazardly, we have our whole ethos and culture that we're building.

And the language from Conscious Capitalism, the stakeholder mentality, we can all win together.

This has become a core value at Lovesac.

This language is woven throughout what we call our strategic guide, which is sort of like, at Lovesac, it's everything.

I think it's a big reason why we've had success.

We have a very well-articulated strategic guide that we don't just continue to evolve as the business evolves.

Our purpose, our mission, our values,

Vision all of these things articulated really clearly but we also infiltrate the organization with the language from that strat guide in many very prescribed ways and all of that came just by being sort of compelled to

read the book and get into the experiences provided by Conscious Capitalism.

We've been back every year since at the CEO Summit.

While we're probably not the best contributors to the movement, we certainly have gained a lot by adopting these mentalities.

It's fundamental to everything, even, of course, this movement.

The word consciousness to begin with, I think, infers self-awareness.

I mean, you could almost define consciousness, at least half of its meaning, on those terms.

And I have said for a long time, after reflecting on all this crazy stuff I've been through, you get asked in various forums, like, what's the key to success?
