to an extent, so they don't get those true winning grades.

But I do think to move off the Darnell Nurse contract with zero retention is a great bit of business for the Oilers, right?

Because it did feel like when his name was floating around originally, you would think, okay, they probably have to retain or add a sweetener.

So the fact that they didn't have to, that's a big win.

I really like Ryan Shea.

I think that he is a really good fit for them.

I'm kind of surprised he didn't stay in Pittsburgh.

I really thought he was just going to get extended there.

He was someone, you know, I kind of like had in pencil as a true free agent.

So I was surprised.

And I think it's a very good contract, especially in the context of this year's market and last year's market, where we're seeing these like second pair guys get $8 million plus a year, which is ridiculous.

You know, the Oilers are trying to do this from scratch, find a really, like, low-key, inexpensive goal situation, finding an up-and-comer like Levi, where, you know, if the Sabres had a surplus of goalies, it makes perfect sense why they'd move on from him.

I kind of like that bet versus, you know, last year we saw a lot of these, like, aging veterans get these longer-term contracts, like Jake Allen, or you're seeing, like, Dan Vladar getting a bigger investment this year.

I think going for Levi is a better move.

My only critique would really be I still think they could use a little bit more help up

front, and because they didn't move out the nurse contract sooner, they couldn't be in on guys like, say, Kairou or Paterka, who I think would have been really interesting for them.

So that's what's missing for me.

To get Kapanen back is a big win.

I think he's so effective with Dreisaitl, and he would be on the third line as well.

But one more forward move, I think, would really bring us home.
