And the people who do are the most common.

And this isn't a statement to say like, oh, all these people are bad.

They're doing this intentionally, because I think that they're so indoctrinated into believing that what they're

Doing is okay that they are not aware of the degree of stress that they're putting horses under and they deeply normalize the behaviors and in their own way they do love the horses, but the horse basically becomes a vehicle to success for them and it becomes more about loving the sport than the horse.

So it it has gotten harder and harder to watch upper level horse sports and not see how often the horse's needs

are put aside for human interests and how often harmful training practices and equipment are justified just so that people can get ahead a little bit faster.

And the money and success is such a huge motivator that I think a lot of people aren't ready to come to terms with just how much that motivates.

And it's unfortunate because I do think that the sports could be a lot more ethical than they are.

And

A lot of what gets in the way is human ego.

Oh yeah, for sure.

I think that that's an invaluable skill for so many people to have.

And it it it yeah, once you see it you can't unsee it, which is a bit of a blessing and a curse because it does in a lot of ways ruin parts of the horse world when you start seeing it because you don't get to be within this blissful unawareness.

You see things for what they are and that becomes really difficult.

So it's definitely hard because it really makes you reflect on how deeply normalized certain belief systems are and how often horse discomfort is ignored or just not seen.

A question I had for you actually is if you've ever done bit fittings on saddle seat horses or like specifically like a any type of padded performance horse, because I've found um in my like we we don't really have a Tennessee walking horse circuit where I live.

But they use it it's much more common to use leverage bits that are also paired with abrasive mouthpieces like twisted wire.

Um and I've even seen them using like mule bits and whatnot 'cause th I have been behind the scenes at saddle seat barns with saddle breads and some of the equipment that they just had hanging in their tack room I was I was blown away by cause it was just insane.
