So, you know, I think he wanted early on in his career when, again, speaking to people who knew him at Harvard and his early days of Facebook, he wanted to be known as one of the great engineers, one of the great inventors.
He wanted his reputation to be that of the, you know, the boy genius who came up with the world's first global social network.
But I do think if you if you look at the trajectory of him as an executive and
It's much more as someone who's made a number of savvy business decisions in terms of what companies he acquires and what companies he mimics to the point of, you know, making them extinct, perhaps in the long run.
You know, I think it's left to be seen.
He's still quite young.
And I think as a society, we haven't fully reckoned with the changes that social media has brought.
And I say this as somebody who essentially wrote an entire book on this.
But I think just now we're starting to talk to people who grew up in social media.
I'm the same age as Mark Zuckerberg, so I remember getting it when I was in college.
But when I talk to people, young people who have been on social media since they were 13, 14 years old, a lot of them talk about the ways that it negatively impacted their lives and how they wish they'd been protected from it and how they think it's wrought sort of negative influences for young people all over the world.
I don't know that we know yet.
I think that we could see regulation coming.
We could see a global pushback against perhaps some of the more harmful parts of what he's introduced to society.
I won't argue that all social media is bad, but certainly some of the addictive aspects of it, some of the problems around very young people being exposed to it.
I imagine that if that were to change in 100, 200 years time, we'd look back on social media as something very different than now, when perhaps you look at it and you go, well, was this a very dangerous thing that he actually unleashed onto society?
Move fast and break things was changed as Facebook's official motto.
because I think they were skewered in the press for that particular motto.
However, to this day, if you go to Facebook's headquarters, that is the code for their Wi-Fi.
