Well, I understand it's about $17,000 per household.
We have an ageing population now, Mike.
It is one of the biggest cost pressures that we have as a government.
We will continue to invest in it.
But it's not just about the money.
Yes, we'll put money in.
Yes, we're growing the workforce.
We've got around 900 more doctors working at Health New Zealand than when we came to government, around 2,100 more nurses.
But we also need to make sure we're maximising and driving efficiency and productivity so we can get as much done with the resource we're putting in.
I mean, it is a lot of money, but it goes into a lot, you know, it goes into hospitals, it pays for primary care, it pays for aged care, it pays for a pharmaceutical budget.
That money goes to a huge number of areas which are critically important.
And the key thing is,
making sure we're getting bang for buck for the taxpayer.
Every dollar, we need to make sure we're getting better results year on year.

I absolutely apologise to the New Zealand public for what has happened as a result of criminal activity.
Well, there's been a significant increase in the demand, partially because obviously we've got an ageing population.
But also because we as a government have invested in a significant number of additional cancer medicines, 33 new cancer medicines that were funded in Budget 24.
And many of those require additional infusions.
