If you get a D, we've got a serious problem.
You're a failure.
That's a problem.
You're going to get into serious trouble.
Don't get a D. And so in our subconscious, no one ever wants to get a D anymore.
And so this is why I think...
This is a stat that I saw in someone else's books.
I don't know if it's true, but 80% of A students work for D students.
And I think it's probably true because I think about all the talented people that are working for someone else.
It's just crazy.
And it's because they don't want to fail.
And two things about that really upset me.
One is I've never built anything on my own without help.
If you sit me down and get me to do an exam, I'm definitely getting a D. But if you get all 48 people in my company together and we'd work something, we're definitely getting an A.
because we win in teams.
That's not taught in school when we think we have to do it alone.
You can't do it alone.
You need to work in teams.
The second thing is a D is not failure.
A D is a lesson.
