crazy experience I went to social services as you'd expect for help and at that time they said they can't help me because they had six people in front of me women who had kids and they were trying to house them first and they couldn't even find accommodation for them but you were a kid so you're like I didn't look like a kid
I was six foot and I did look like an adult.
Right.
And so they just, at the time, by the way, when social services turned me away, in my head, it actually made logical sense.
I'm like, of course, someone with a baby, they need accommodation for me.
I'll just find a way.
And, you know, I did.
I stayed on a friend's couch and then I stayed at another friend's house for a while.
And then I slept on the street for a little bit.
Did you?
I did.
Yeah, it was crazy.
Well, I couldn't go to school.
Yeah.
There was no going to school.
I didn't have clean clothes.
So, yeah, I had to leave school at the same time.
And then the whole crazy process of that particular stage, what I learned was, one, homeless people are actually some of the kindest people in the world.
Like I remember sleeping one night, freezing cold in the street.
The other person who was in the same alcove as me gave me his blanket.
