Or you might have a job where you're saving your company time.

And so you might say, Hey, I've actually been doing like

X amount of projects or outputting X amount of projects, which usually is something that like two designers would do.

And so I really do believe that my work has saved you the cost of an extra junior designer that would cost like

I don't know, like a contractor that would cost like an extra forty thousand dollars as like a part-time role.

So therefore I believe I should get a twenty thousand dollar raise.

So do you see what I mean?

Like by showcasing here's how I've added value to the company by giving you money, or here's how I've added value to the company by saving you money, it is a lot easier to convince your manager or your boss for a raise because in their mind, remember we're all just like we all just have monkey lizard brains.

So in their mind they're like, wow, wow, Sim did add like twenty thousand dollars worth of value and she's only asking for a ten thousand dollar raise.

Like the company's still better off if we give her the raise, so yes, of course, take it.

So do that preparation beforehand.

And I promise you, it is a lot easier to have that conversation.

This is what I teach my own team when they have

raise conversations with me.

I'm like all you have to do is showcase how you've added money to the company or how you've saved money to the company.

Ask for a raise like in that amount and like of course I'm gonna say yes.

And they do really well.

But it's just learning how to have those skills because we obviously don't get taught it at school or at home.

It's something that you learn.
