At least you can live in a super nice neighborhood and have that lifestyle.
If you have to go to work and your work is in the city, the time saved by just like working very close to where you live is
like goals, it makes life so much easier as opposed to like having an hour commute each way.
And so all those reasons make it a really good idea to rent vest.
Now on the other hand, if you're someone that works from home and doesn't need to be in a super nice neighborhood and you just want to have your own place, then owning your home is so much better than rent vesting.
And so as a result, you kind of figure out
Yeah, okay, I can buy my home, but maybe I'm further out, but at least it is my own home.
Or you can go, hey, like I really want a nice place, but I just cannot afford this area, so I am going to rent vest.
It is so down to your personal preference.
In my case, I ended up owning my own home rather than rent vesting.
I mean, I work from home, so I didn't need to like live close to my job or live in the city.
But if I was, you know
in a financial job where I was working in a bank and I had to go in every single day, then maybe I would rent in somewhere like Ponsonby or a really nice area close to the city where I could walk to work and buy in an area that was further out and rent it out.
So that's probably what I would have done, but
It's all down to personal preference, isn't it?
It's there's a reason they call it personal finance, it's because it's personal.
Oh, this is a really good money question.
Someone said, Hi Sim, how much longer can prices keep going up with wages staying stagnant?
Question mark.
There is this theory or this idea that in capitalism you'd hope that the cost of things can only go up to the point where it meets the market.
