Dearly beloved, here we are.
My mum didn't go to church here.
So when Brother Shepard started his church, which is behind Top Church in Dudley, they rented the hall on a Sunday.
And suddenly there was a church.
And we had to go to Sunday school.
Sunday school.
Don't forget to attend Sunday school.
And Brother Shepard would arrive in a van outside our house.
He had to go around and pick up all these kids.
The van had no suspension at all.
And we'd all be crammed into this van.
No seatbelts.
Remember that?
No seatbelts.
Brother Shepard smoked fags, so no seatbelts.
And he wouldn't wind the window down in case he got pneumonia.
So he'd, like, chain smoke all the way.
And we'd arrive at the church, and we'd get out, and we'd go in, and they'd split us into groups, and we'd have Sunday school.
And it was great, actually.
And I got very good.
