We knew the cancer had returned on April 4th, 2024.

He died April 30th.

Wow.

Yeah, soon after.

So at the same time, that preparation, and I had certainly imagined his death over and over again before he died, because he was ill,

What you are not prepared for, or I wasn't, was the kind of bodily, rhythmic disorientation of losing him.

I mean, he was part of my everyday perceptual landscape, if you were, or house scape.

And I wasn't prepared for how

radical his dear disappearance from that landscape would be.

And over time, over the two years that have passed, what's happened is not that I don't miss him or grieve him,

But that the rhythms of my life, my embodied habits, have become more and more used to his absence, if that makes sense.

Yeah.

So it's easier for me to go through the day.

I think my life, who knows how I will think about my life.

It depends on how long I live, and no one knows that.

But...

But most definitely, that longest chapter of my life was with Paul, was Paul and Siri, Siri and Paul.

And now, for however long, it's another chapter.

I do want to live.
