Ben, do you think they do away with that rule even as early as next season?
what I want to do is change the focus from the small things like, oh, it's 65, the right number and put it down to 60.
Let's take step back and just be honest.
The NBA has an absolute injury crisis.
You know, if you look at all the number of stars who have been injured this season, the percentage of games they've missed, it's absolutely nuts.
I ran an analysis back in like November and only the top 30 players, the highest paid players combined were on track to cost their teams.
I think it was like
uh 500 million dollars in salary for games they don't play so it's a half a billion dollars just being wasted on 30 guys because they're missing so much time due to injuries if you flashback three or four years ago the question was oh it's just load management you know these guys don't want to play now what we're seeing is the style of play in the NBA it's not manageable they can't handle these loads it's too much bodies are breaking down calf strains Achilles
I mean, we're seeing all sorts of different muscle issues.
And even guys who were basically indestructible, Joker, Shea, Giannis earlier in his career are having injuries now that are sidelining them for real amounts of time during the season.
And so rather than get caught up in the minutia of an MVP debate about 60 versus 65 or should we get rid of the rule or whatever,
let's take, take a step back and figure out what the heck is going on.
And are there changes to the game that can protect these guys?
Has it gotten too fast?
Right.
You know, the, the scores are incredible.
Everybody gets excited.
You know, somebody gets 150 points.
It's like, you know, wow, this is crazy.
But you know, are the, are the bodies able to hold up to that strain of getting up and down and playing that fast?
