He's grown now.

He's about 6'2", and prospects on defense are something that we're trying to add to our mix.

So you put those two things together in the trade without the retention, and it was a deal that we were fortunate to be able to make.

Kurt in particular, yes, I had hired Kurt actually to be a scout when I was in Chicago and

Kurt had been doing a lot of good work and he was young and up and coming so he worked with us only one year and then he got the call to come be the general manager of the Loyola Kings and we didn't want to hold him back.

We thought that was a great progression for him and in the intervening years he's done an excellent job and I've had a chance to work with him over the last couple of years and start talking about

what roles he could help us with and where his strengths were.

And this seemed like a natural fit.

And his primary responsibility in that pillar of our organization would be the player procurement.

essentially any player that's going to come into our organization, whether it's to the draft, to the trades, free agency, or, you know, undrafted free agents, that's all going to be in that group.

And we've got some great leaders there already.

Rick Tracy and Warren Reichel.

And now we've got Kurt as well.

So I think that's an area that we want to continue to be innovative about and

I think it's a great opportunity for Curt.

Yeah, I'll back up a little bit and try to explain maybe the process we went through, and then we can talk about the people individually.

So when I started, like I started late that summer, it was basically August, and I remember one of the first things I talked to Jeff Jackson about was the need for us to be innovative and to be operating differently

than we were, but also it was a difficult time to try to make that all happen that year.
