Well, yeah, look, the starting point is that this is going to be six or seven hundred pages or that sort of length of an independent commission being scathing about the behaviour of Manchester City over a decade.
And they're going to have to make findings against individuals where they say they did not believe the evidence that they gave.
They're going to say that they don't believe the documents that Manchester City presented as this so-called irrefutable evidence.
So they are going to go very, very hard on Manchester City.
They're going to go very hard on Manchester City in the next part of the process.
And their findings of fact, i.e.
those things that they believe happened, having heard the evidence over 12 weeks, will be very, very hard to overturn at appeal.
But City in their announcement tonight, in the statement that they gave, I think, to The Athletic,
or possibly more widely, have suggested that perhaps they're going to try and push around the idea that maybe the panel wasn't impartial or maybe it was biased or that type of argument.
Those types of arguments are extremely unlikely to succeed.
They have been run by other clubs.
They usually fail.
I would expect them to fail here.
And that then means that you're left with a situation where it's very hard to challenge the factual findings, but also it's hard to challenge the independence of the panel.
So yes, it makes sense not to appeal, but I'm sure City are going to appeal.
Well, I think there's two things that we need to just understand.
First of all, that the regulation around the game is probably for the best overall in some form.
Secondly, the things that City seem to have actually done and the breaches that are happening
appear to have been confirmed are far beyond football regulation.
Yes, there are subsequential breaches and consequential breaches of the PSRs and the licensing regime with UEFA.
