Once you give a child too much screen time, that is going to be something that is very difficult to then rein back in when holiday time is coming to an end because it is such an addiction for children.
So the thing is that with screen time, I would definitely say parents have to give a limit.
And we do live in such a beautiful country and children need to get out.
So there's certain things.
Children need to spend time outside, even if it's just walking the dog with mom and dad down the road.
And in the rain, you can do that in the rain.
They have to get up.
The other thing is they have to entertain themselves.
Parents have a real concern nowadays that they have to be entertaining their children.
They have to be keeping them busy 24 hours a day, and they don't.
Children need to be left to learn how to be bored.
And I always say, you know, this time of the year, if you, you know,
believe in the Father Christmas and follow all of that.
I always say to parents, well, tell your children, they've got all these toys.
Why should Father Christmas bring any more if they're not even playing with them?
So this is a time actually where parents can actually almost ruin their children off screen time.
So with the new year start, they're actually not addicted to the screens at all and they don't actually want it.
So children have to be playing outside, playing with the toys they currently have and being allowed to be bored.
You know, they need to be told, well, if you don't know what to do, there's a cupboard you can go clean.
There's a room you can go clean.
