I mean, I know there was reporting today in the Irish Times, for example, about this idea of a voucher system in some way.
The other suggestion will be for countries to use the powers they have to an unlimited extent on things like VAT, excise duties.
There will also be, we expect, a recommendation for businesses to allow at least one day remote working.
And also a suggestion that perhaps there could be public subsidies for public transport to make public transport a more attractive option for consumers and workers at the moment.
We've seen that in other countries, for example, in Australia, they've done that where they've brought in those measures.
So they're the kind, it's about trying to reduce the demand because I think, as John Fitzgerald said there, that's exactly right.
There is a concern in Brussels about,
that some countries could move ahead and implement kind of long-term measures that they are worried then will affect their fiscal space and the economic health of countries, particularly like Italy, France that are struggling with big debts and deficits in France's case.
Well, that's it.
And I mean, you have that debate in the European Commission where on the one hand, you've got certain figures there who really have been listening to business, farming communities, et cetera, over the last few years, even before this energy crisis, about the cost of business.
And then you've got other dynamics here in Brussels that are really pushing the EU to stick to its climate targets.
and to try and continue to be a leader on that.
But they know the reality is that countries across Europe are struggling with the debates that are happening in Ireland too.
So we expect Germany later today to come out with some more measures.
Italy, for example, it's called for the EU to relax some of its fiscal rules.
It's very exposed and it imports a lot of energy.
Whereas countries like France, for example, has a lot of nuclear energy, it's not as impacted.
So you've got very different countries
energy mixes in different countries.
So that's one of the difficulties for the EU as it tries to bring together a coherent policy.
