Well, I think it would be a situation where they're having to start from scratch.

And starting from scratch, again, is hard for any sport.

But this may actually be an opportunity for Netball New Zealand to look at the structure of the competition, see what worked and what didn't work.

I still think that two rounds is, you know, 10 games more

And a competition is too short for these players.

They need to have a lot of competition to keep up with what's happening across the Tasman.

You know, we've got the World Cup next year and it's going to be really interesting to see.

whether all that's happened with Dame Noeline Taurua and that saga.

With the, you know, lack of money behind the sport right now, whether that is going to impact on our World Cup chances next year.

And I guess it's just,

We will have to wait and see.

Oh, you'd love to think that there were private backers out there who would love to come and put their money into netball right now.

But it's hard to see that happening.

I think that a trans-Tasman competition just wouldn't be feasible right now.

So the Australian competition has opened its doors to bids from other teams.

So currently it's eight teams.

They're going to expand to 10 teams in 2028.

And we've found out last week that the Northern Mystics have put a bid in to enter the 2028 competition.

And they're also on tenterhooks waiting to see what happens to that bid.

The question, of course, is really, does Australia want to have a New Zealand team in its competition?
