So our program is...
reactive, meaning if somebody calls us we're responding to it, but we don't have the resources to actually go out proactively and attract retail.
Another piece and I think we're I've gotten very good at telling the county's economic development and tourism story, but I think there needs to be special emphasis on a redevelopment areas and so really that storytelling telling the story of of our businesses and these neighborhoods in the communities.
within these areas.
So having more resources to do special campaigns like we did at Innovation or the Make Your Mark series but actually focused on redevelopment will be really key.
I think also creating more of those events and those spam tours.
About three years ago we brought
all the staff from the GSA mid-Atlantic region to see all of the county's opportunity sites on the east side of the county to show them that, hey, we could be a location for a federal employer.
That was amazing because while we arranged for the bus to pick them up downtown, half the people actually got on in Prince William County because they live there.
So being able to do more of that type of work and just showing people what's happening is huge.
With all programs, obviously KPIs are super important.
When, as we're establishing and continuing to build out, and if we add some more tools to our toolkit, these KPIs are gonna be important to measure that construction under, all that development under construction, all the new jobs and the paychecks that are being handed out to new residents because they have new jobs, and just the overall confidence in consumers and residents being able to shop and experience the area.
So lastly is basically the framework for the county's economic development and tourism redevelopment program focuses on creating modern employment centers, retail and placemaking, hopefully creating a future redevelopment toolkit, proactive promotions,
all tied with a pretty bow in tracking that progress so that we can continue to be agile and adjust as needed as the market changes and as we learn more about what it takes to make redevelopment happen.
And so with that, let's transform potential into progress.
What a very good ending.
So first of all, I love this presentation.
Thank you so very much.
I think that this is something that this board has really been interested in learning more about and figuring how to make things happen.
How do we make fetch happen?
