So some sense that some of the price pressure, yes, some of it's coming from tariffs, but maybe some of it's coming from the implications of uh greater AI spending and greater um AI uh efficiency in terms of pricing as well.
That's right.
And uh Donald Trump wanted to be signed in on uh uh to be on his desk on Independence Day, so that seems to be what is happening there.
Uh in terms of the implications from it, I don't think there's huge implications for markets at the moment.
Uh most people were expecting it to to pass and uh the US equity and bond markets did close early ahead of uh the Independence Day holiday, so the vote actually happened after markets were closed.

trillion to budget deficits over the next ten years.
But in terms of the economic momentum in the US, um there's been a lot of talk uh oh obviously with tariffs, um tariffs act as effectively a tax increase domestically.
Uh and that's true to some extent, but it also depends what you do with that revenue.
And at least this one beautiful uh tax bill is redistributing all that revenue or using it to help fund um its its uh spending commitments there.
So uh the
impact of tariffs actually may be ameliorated by uh all the spending that's going to be happening in this one beautiful tax bill and also probably keeps the Fed a little bit cautious if it is going to be adding a little bit of s stimulatory um to to the economy, um particularly in the second half of this year and uh into next year.
Yes, yes, that's right.

Anecdotal evidence suggested that intense
market competition had underpinned the latest reduction in selling prices.
So uh the way tariffs seem to be playing out in terms of China, it's acting as a greater disinflationary force domestically and at least in terms of Chinese exports, it's adding as a disinflation force to many other countries around the world as well.
that's right.
