I think um more focus is gonna be on possible replacements for for POW and what their opinions on the um on the monetary policy are as well.

Yeah, so when you look at the core measure, uh that was up uh uh uh three point three percent year in year versus three point two percent expected and three percent price.
So it is a problem on the core measure itself.
But on the headline measure, you've seen a rapid rise in rice prices there, and so that's lifting up the uh headline measure.
But in terms of the core measure, you do have a bit of a uh too high inflation.
And if it wasn't for the tariff and trade headwinds that were emanating uh from US policy uncertainty.
I think the Bank of Japan would be hiking rates in this environment.
Um, but because of those big headwinds, uh, I think they're willing to be a little bit more more patient there.
Uh and uh until greater clarity really emerges on the impact of US tariffs.
And similar to the FMC, you're probably not gonna see that until the fall of the Northern Hemisphere.
So you're probably not talking until about September, October, until that becomes uh a a lot clearer.
Uh when you look at market pricing, they're about fifty percent price for a rate hike by
the end of the year.
Uh if you do get tariff uh certainty emerging and you continue to get a lift in that core inflation rate, then I think the Bank of Japan uh would be more likely to lift rates by the end of the year.
Uh this week we also get the Tokyo CPO, which is um which is for four June.
So I think that'll be worth worth looking at.
