And the first month of the quarter is very goods heavy. matched

So it only really gives you a good characterization of the good side of the economy. matched

And uh if you look at the year on year, um the headline inflation is at two point four percent year on year and uh annual trim mean is at two point eight percent. matched

So still within the RBA's target, um albeit with all those kind of caveats there, no real bar to further re recuts in our view. matched

Um but we think the most important outcome really when you look into the detail matched

Was a 0.5% month-on-month lift in new dwelling purchase prices after a string of relatively soft print uh prints. matched

And just worth noting, the new dwelling component is the largest component in the CPI basket, worth about eight percent of the entire basket. matched

And that slowdown that I was noting in the new dwelling construction costs over the say past year um has been a bigger driver of the disinflation that that we've been seeing. matched

So if new dwelling uh matched

uh purchase prices are running at 0.5% month on month, which is not our forecast, then that could shift up trim mean inflation by around 0.1 to 0.2 basis points each each quarter. matched

So on the back of that new dwelling um component, we've tentatively revised up our Q2 trim mean forecast to 0.7% Q on Q from 0.6% Q on Q. matched

But I think it's just worth emphasizing for Australia's CPI, looking at the housing components is going to matched

be very, very important just to assess the near term trajectory for matched

Yeah, I think it's well well in the price. matched

And i if you look at uh asset performance since when Trump will uh won the election, uh Bitcoin is one of the best performing assets. matched

I think it's up about fifty percent since when Trump Trump was elected. matched

Uh and the next best performing asset is is gold. matched

Um so I think that that that probably tells you about the degree of policy uncertainty um out there that some investors are uh contemplating with. matched

Um but um yes, the uh US administration matched

embrace of crypto is uh well well known and I just think it's just really interesting that the Vice President of the United States um gave a uh speech at that Bitcoin conference. matched
