Um it does suggest though you shouldn't overly extrapolate the rise that we've seen. matched
Uh so uh a few estimates out there suggest that on that services CPI, which rose to five point four percent year on year versus four point eight percent expected, if you stripped out the volatile items such as airfares and the index categories, so the government administered prices, that would see services inflation actually falling down to three point eight percent. matched

So uh it's uh so I'd be I'll just caution not to extrapolate too far. matched
But again, um this was still above most analysts' ex expectations there. matched
So when you look at the pricing for Bank of England rate cuts out there, it has been paired, but it hasn't been paired by that much. matched
So there's 38.3 basis points of cuts priced by the end of 2025, and that's down from 41.5 basis points uh the the day prior. matched
So a little bit of pairing back, but not a dramatic pairing. matched
going back because when you look underneath the hood, a lot of it is driven by that government administered prices and and their fair components. matched

So um firms were reporting that there hasn't been too much of a change in consumer behaviour from the February in interest rate cut. matched
And uh at least most forecasters, including ourselves at at the time, had expected uh as real incomes uh started to rise, as inflation started to ease back, um, that you'd start to see consumer um spending picking up and that hasn't really occurred in the meaningful matched
