So uh oh overall it looks like uh China is unveiling uh more support for for household wealth, particularly stocks and property market, AI funding, childcare is in the works, all is China trust.
price to achieve that five percent growth target in twenty twenty five.
So uh more positive m momentum coming out of China and at least a few stimulus efforts really concentrated on the consumer side of the economy, which is really needed.
Yep.
Per perhaps it's that case.
But there's also a little bit of commentary out there saying maybe the uh she put is in play now uh and that uh authorities are starting to deploy more market friendly measures.
And you kinda got that with that AI summit that occurred uh about a month and a half ago and that have seen uh Chinese equities really outperform the rest of the world there.
But also just the framing of it, looking at the English translation, um the framing of it is uh
Uh special ini special inif uh initiatives to boost consumption as the world's second largest economy moves to make domestic demand the main engine and anchor of economic growth.
Now that all sounds really good from a rhetoric point of view.
Yeah, I think so.
And that was also one of the key aspects uh that a number of US commentators have made over the past decade that uh China needed to boost up its consumption share of Gd P become less reliant on exports here.
So uh it's still very, very early days and it's still only the initial um formative bits of the plan and I think today's press conference is going to be watched quite closely.
So the third one, and I think this it was a little bit underappreciated, um, specifically in regards to there was no new headlines from the White House in terms of tariffs.
And to some extent, maybe for some, that eased some of the concerns out there.
And in particular, there was one headline that grabbed a bit of attention saying uh Tesla tells the US government Trump trade war could harm EV companies.
And in that, uh Tesla uh has written to the US uh TR, so US trade rep rep and
Said uh US companies will benefit from a phased approach that enables them to prepare accordingly and ensure appropriate supply chain and compliance measures are taken.
So if if that phasing approach takes shape, and indeed um in the early bits of the discussion around trade, there was a lot of talk about phasing in a lot of the these tariffs.
And to date that hasn't really occurred, but there had been talk previously, and we have that April 2nd um uh date coming for reciprocal tariffs.
