I think that would be the way to talk through a disease process or a diagnosis with someone.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
I mean, I think in any area of medicine, it's going to be the same factors of exercise, diet, sleep, avoiding toxic substances.
In cardiology, that's like at the top of the list of the lifestyle stuff that we talk about with people.
And all of that matters.
And so the recommendations that we give are cardio exercise, 150 minutes a week of moderate cardio or 75 minutes a week of vigorous cardio, working in strength training at least two days a week, hard, healthy diets.
You know, we talk about the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet and more plant-based diets or vegetarian diets.
We talk about sleep, which is, you know, everyone doesn't, everyone in my practice, no one gets enough of it, but seven to nine hours of sleep is sort of being the ideal.
And then, you know, avoiding obviously smoking and excess, if any, alcohol, managing stress and mental health, you know, but these sort of lifestyle things are really critical and, you know, maintaining a healthy weight.
we continue to learn about obesity and the many cancers that are linked with obesity, not to mention high blood pressure and high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease.
So yeah, I think it's really critical that people empower themselves by taking control of all of these things that they can take control of.
And it's not easy.
I tell my patients, it's not easy to prioritize exercise and sleep and to eat healthy.

It requires a lot of mental energy to not pick up the fast food when you want to, but to choose a salad, right?
It's hard.
It's hard to get up at six in the morning and go exercise when you're tired and you want to sleep.
But all of these little baby steps, all of these little things that you think are not important, ultimately builds you.
