Some are though, I will say, arguing that and why I think some of it has been scaled back both in in Vermont and even in Connecticut for as to what was proposed to what was passed, that, you know, some of these blanket ownership bans could actually backfire.

There are severely underfunded safety net hospitals which need, you know, investment to kind of stay afloat.

and kind of really limiting or limiting too much the investment that could come in and how it can come in may cause those hospitals to have to close.

Um, but that's just kind of another thing to consider.

Um one of the other states that we talked about in Nashville was Maine.

Uh, I think you'll recall there was a one year moratorium that they had on private equity ownership at all.

So they did have an outright ban that expired about a month ago.

There's a strict um state approval requirement for all major private equity transactions.

Um and it's a long process, a hundred and eighty day review, I believe, of the healthcare transactions.

that's a significant t period of time to go through approval process that kind of really and we'll talk about this, but slows down deals, things like that.

So um

Just another example of kind of another way that a state is kind of regulating, kind of slowing down transactions, requiring an appro an actual approval, not just notice.

And then um asking for a lot of kind of transparency and other information within those um within those uh filings.

Um and then

Um we talked a little bit about but w Washington also um has a statewide registry now of healthcare entity owners.

So similar to what I mentioned in Indiana.
