Um and I think it's worth noting there in terms of how the RBA uh would interpret this data.
They realized an upside surprise to their unemployment expectations over the second quarter.
Um and their revised forecast though, although they do expect the unemployment rate to be heading up, not down, over the next year or two.
Um they've got it around four point five percent in Q four.
So they're not expecting it to to do anything spectacular quickly in on their August forecasts.
Yeah, I I I think that's right.
Headline two point nine percent year on year as expected, core, you know, a touch higher, but services inflation did cool two tenths as as was expected as well.
Um, and yeah, as you say, kind of BOE expected to be on hold at their next meeting.
Markets are pricing now around fifteen basis points for the November meeting.
Um, that's paired back a bit.
So it got up closer to eighteen basis points following that that labor market.
data yesterday, but most of that move was ahead of the CPI data, so little reaction to um to that CPI data and it was near expectation.

Um, you know, equities much higher, um yields lower, um risk sensitive currencies, including the Aussie are outperforming a little bit.
And if we think about kind of what the new developments were, you mentioned there those comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
He suggested a deal to reopen the Strait of Hamous could come today.
Or tomorrow.
But there was some other news worth noting there as well.
It does seem like the talks initially are kind of focused on a narrow deal looking at kind of movement through the Strait of Hamous.
