shipping.
That's now been kind of paused since Friday.
And you've had uh Iran also signaling it was refraining from retaliation while that was ongoing.
Um and so if we think back, you know, late last week it was uh you know threats from the White House in in the US of kind of further escalation um and intensification of of that conflict and there certainly is a a bit of a shift there.
You've now got Trump talking about um there's a a good chance
That something could happen if it does good.
If it doesn't, we go back to to what we're doing.
So, you know, not necessarily suggesting that there's some big fix for this uh coming imminently, but a bit of a change in tone there.
Um and maybe a couple of, you know, potentially um, you know, more positive developments.
So, you know, there was just kind of that ongoing pause in terms of the kind of US and Iran directly, but you also saw reporting that Iran and Oman were trying to reach an agreement.
To restart shipping through the straits.
Um, and if we look a little bit further afield, there were concerns about disruptions at a um uh key uh terminal that uh Kazakhstan uses to to export a lot of its uh crude oil, and there were tankers sailing back towards that and and loading it at that terminal recently as well.
And so, you know, maybe some some good news on some of the broader disruption uh recently as well.
Yeah, well I mean, what whatever the reason there there does seem to have been a a bit of a shift from that, you know, that concern about further intensification to to you know the bit of a pause in in hostilities that we've seen recently.
But, you know, suddenly, you know, we've fallen back uh a a fair way, back below ninety dollars on on Brent oil, but you know, that's still a long way above where we were uh, you know, in in late June and and still very elevated relative to relative to February levels.
So not out of the woods yet, but you know
bit of a turn from from what we were looking at late last week.
Yeah.
So, you know, we did see um, you know, US uh equities and and futures kind of moving higher alongside that kind of more positive risk tone alongside the fallback in oil through kind of, you know, the Asian session early on Monday.
But those gains were were unwound and it was chips again.
