And over in Europe, despite kind of an ACB uh hold that was widely expected and the and the outcome of that doing nothing to put markets off the scent of a September rate increase, we have
Actually saw some modest outperformance in in European yields.
So that oil story was shared across everyone.
Um and the you know, a little bit of of difference across markets on the domestic drivers.
Yeah, that's right.
So, you know, Hawkish from the perspective that she had seemed to have absolutely no interest in putting markets off the center of a an increase in in September.
She said that the ECB's reaction function is very well understood by markets.
And I think, you know, that's probably fair enough given there wasn't too much of a a market reaction uh in terms of um to the to the communications there with markets pretty well set up for a a hold um at this meeting and then um an increase in in September if, you know, unless
We get uh a very stark shift in in um energy price um uh developments and inflation risks as we roll through the next seven weeks.
I think, you know, maybe a couple of comments to point out, something for for the dubs, if if there was something there.
Um, you know, they'd said that um
you know, policy was positioned adequately to weights, but be very attentive to markets.
Um also noted though that um they weren't seeing second round effects in in wages.
So, you know, that's encouraging so far, although obviously they're gonna stay alert to um to to that as well.
And also um she did say that, you know, things now looked like things were evolving, you know, broadly in line with their baseline projections in terms of how oil prices and broader energy market prices
were developing, you know, maybe it could be a little worse than that.
But I think, you know, that all depends on on what happens over the next seven weeks ahead of ahead of the next next meeting.
And so yeah, the the net result there is markets were well priced for an increase from the ECB in in September.
And the net of the commentary out of the ECB and a Bloomberg source story afterwards suggests that that's, you know, the the right thing to be priced for, it looks likely.
Yeah, so a bit a bit of a mixed print.
