There was um yeah, that news Friday afternoon US time um that from Donald Trump that he would be meeting now in the Situation Room to make a a final determination, but um it wasn't clear who he was meeting with and and still isn't, and we haven't really heard anything um come out of that.

Iran's uh semi official Tasman news agency also um reported repeated statements.

There's no no

final understanding had had been reached and so this kind of you know sixty day in interim deal that is um you know apparently close and and just around the corner, there's no real new d new developments there, but certainly nothing that derail that suggests that they've gone backwards either.

I guess we should be should be clear on that.

Yeah, that's that's very true.

So that um yeah, that further expansion of the the Israeli ground assault in in Lebanon o over the weekends, you know, is again a a complicating factor and and remains so in in that in that sixty day uh in interim deal discussion.

And, you know, you just still have the situation in in the US and we've h heard reporting from from a couple of officials there that suggests that kind of the the US red lines of a and um, you know, a end to the uh

uh the nuclear uh program, um free passage through through the Strait of Hormuz, all of those remain un unchanged.

Mm-hmm.

And so, you know, it do it does seem like those sticking points that are that are in the way of that that sixty day interim deal, which, you know, is only only going to be an i a sixty day interim deal as well, while the the trickier conversations about the the nuclear program are are are negotiated.

Um, you know, there doesn't seem to be too much change on

on what the last barriers to a resolution there are.

Yeah, well I mean the that kind of I guess the b both both sides kind of continue to to you know look towards and and make noises around a some some agreement is is close.

So, you know, maybe that's maybe that's as good as a a sixty day pause being being um you know formally in in place while that happens and kind of that that ceasefire is still kind of broadly holding um then you know op optimism does has remained reasonably reasonably

Resilient on the back of that.

Um, but you know, we did see some comments from the Bank of England's Governor Bailey on on Friday with the FT.

Um, and he was just noting, um, you know, perhaps un unsurprisingly, but making it clear that from his view at least a sixty day pause would would be helpful, but it's not going to end the issue.

It would still create further uncertainty and it would, you know, take a a lot more than that to have kind of the the confidence to potentially bring

uh interest rate cuts back on the on the table in in the UK with that kind of those risks around energy prices and and the inflation impacts of those, you know, they wouldn't be going away quickly even if there was some some sixty day um deal found in the near term.
