risk of AI disruption, but none of those moves were outsized.
And I think by the end of this past week, some of those stock market moves were overshadowed by what was happening at the Federal Reserve.
Which was not a surprise.
Fed officials have already, through their projections, penciled in another rate increase.
Uh I think things that were interesting about the decision uh that that people are talking about, one is that it was unanimous.
It was 12-0.
That was sort of interesting.
Uh you know, some of the people who are more geeked out in in in these things are looking at, well, you know, the Fed kind of said that some of the further out projections of what interest rates are were kind of raised a little.
The market reaction was a little bit all over the place in the immediate aftermath.
So I I would say like right when the decision hit, people bought longer-term treasury bonds.
So 10-year yields fell a little bit.
As Kevin Walsh talked, the market felt like what he was saying to reporters was hawkish, that he was like really, you know, trying to bolster his inflation fighting credentials.
That pushed tenure yields up a little bit.
But then by the next morning, they had started to decline a little bit.
And but like predecessors before him, you know, like Alan Greenspan, who similarly was appointed by president that wanted, you know, interest rates to go down, as most presidents do, his very first decision was was a rate hike.
And Kevin Walsh, who we've talked about on this show, wants to kind of be kind of Greenspan-esque, you know, he wants to say less and not, you know, kind of m roadmap for the market what the Fed is going to do.
And and so, you know, if Greenspan's
First move was a hike, well maybe it made sense that Warsh's first move ultimately.
Maybe so.
Totally agree.
