And and I like that honestly t care is being taken and time within the precious words of this adventure to in many ways try to appeal to the the players and their characters um by setting up n not just saying like, hey, you're here for this funeral, as many things do, but and tell me how you knew ISPEN and preparing you for later that you might give a speech at the funeral or say some words.
Words and that you might then relate to other friends that Ispen had that are in the adventure and create these ties also with Ispen's town.
Like he chose to go to this place called Vulgler.
So, you know, you should maybe care about it too.
That is a nice construction that's taking place in this adventure to link you to it.
And yeah, you can choose to bounce off of it, but well, you know, all adventures are s have some amount of.
Like we're all gonna agree that we're gonna go on this adventure, right?
Yeah and I think that
Fans have sort of criticized these preludes because it's such a microcosm, but again, look at the space that we have to work with.
And so having a really slow build or having repeating cases where people react to the mil m uh miracles you cast would just eat up a lot of space.
And and it would be hard to account for, you know, when exactly our PC is going to cast spells in in the middle of, you know, a setting.
And so it's trying to, I think, d
Do do that work up front so the DM can improvise.
other pieces they need and the players can highlight that too, right?
If you remember that arcane magic is kind of rare and a spectacle and we know about this big test that might be coming on, now you're in a position to play that both of you.
And I think that's what it's trying to do and what's hoping will happen versus spending the time throughout all these different places.
Could the preludes make me happier?
Absolutely.
But also, boy, these happen in just a couple of pages and that's sort of a small miracle of design.
