That's average for America right now.
One of the things I say is that, we talked about this earlier, it's the difference between gratification and relational joy.
A lot of us substitute intensity for intimacy.
Boy, the internet, that's what they sell.
That's the algorithm.
Intensity itself becomes like a drug.
And it makes us feel alive and it's gratifying and it pulls us out of whatever depression we're feeling.
But it's very short-lived.
You know, that was one of the things I was nervous about coming on this podcast with you.
No, no, not that, but this idea of optimizing every experience.

I didn't read the book, but the title is hilarious.
