And I just poked my head into the House of Representatives and I see the public gallery is absolutely packed.
I think that's weird for four o'clock in the afternoon.
And why is it packed?
Oh well, Joe Hockey was just giving his maiden speech.
And Joe Hockey, big private school boy from the North Shore of Sydney, Mr Charisma, then young Liberal President of New South Wales, young Liberal Federal President, and he'd got into a big, nice, safe North Shore seat at the age of 29, and he just thought, I'm here to be the Prime Minister.
I've arrived.
So why was the public gallery packed?
Because Joe Hockey, the ultimate network, he's invited all of his mates from his private school.
There's about 400 people in the public gallery watching him.
all of his CEO mates, all of his Liberal Party mates, okay, just anyone that's gonna help the Joe for PM campaign.
So I just poked my, and I was in the right wing faction, so I wasn't really very friendly with Joe Hockey.
So I just poked my head in there and I thought, oh, there's Joe Hockey's maiden speech.
So I'm awkwardly looking around for a seat, but I just couldn't find a seat.
But then after 20 seconds, he just happened to finish his speech.
Okay, so I thought, okay, that's good.
So then everyone's filing out and I was going to file out.
Then I heard the speaker say, I now call the member for Oxley and I remind the house of its maiden speech.
And I thought, Oxley, Oxley.
I thought, Pauline.
So I thought, I'll hang around for this.
