Just at the same time, I go to Parliament as a staffer to a guy called Ross Cameron, had got elected as a federal member for Parramatta and he had, I was one of his three staff.

So I go to Canberra as a staffer and it's an exciting time for the new Howard government.

And on two or three, now Pauline Hanson won't remember this and there's no witnesses, okay, but this happened, I promise you Sam, this happened.

On at least two occasions, possibly three, I'm walking down a corridor, no, no, big long corridors in Parliament House.

And I probably had a few beers and I saw Pauline.

And I said, Pauline, I'm really happy you got elected.

I'm really looking forward to your maiden speech.

And she said, oh, thank you.

And she just moved on.

And because you can't speak in Parliament until you've given your maiden speech.

You can vote, but you can't.

And it's like when you give your maiden speech to Parliament, it's sort of like you're telling the Parliament, you're telling the world who I am, what I believe in, what got me here, and what I want to achieve.

It's sort of like, you know, here I am.

Now then what happens was, so she's elected in March, now then it gets to about September that year, because there was a lot of new members they had to give their maiden speech.

I'm walking past the main gallery in Parliament House, just carrying some documents back to the office.
