Anyway, so that's the culture that you want to create.
And the trust part is so important.
Yeah, the trust is huge.
When you're transparent, trust comes organically.
And that's a big part of being a GM or running a baseball organization is you have to foster trust.
with yourself and the players, yourself and the manager, yourself and the owner, yourself and the fans, and then all the different constituencies to each other.
Because when it breaks down, especially in a place like Boston or Chicago, you just have complete toxicity.
And your weakest link is going to be exposed in those markets, and then it just becomes chaos.
And I've lived through it.
So going out of your way to show that empathy, make sure it's genuine.
connect people, bring them along.
And then you start to have a culture that like takes over where it's people like each other, people trust each other, people know they're in it together.
Like we've both sat on opposite sides of the table, like contract negotiations.
You and I, when you were at GM, we were like open exchange of like, hey, I don't think you're doing this the right way.
Like, hey, I don't think you're looking at the right way.
Let's hash it out.
And you're not always gonna be on the same side of the table.
But those are so healthy because it's all out in the open.
And if you learn to do it directly and with accountability and with honesty and with trust, that's what creates the culture.
Because then people see that, oh, our leaders are being honest.
