So I do think primary school teachers do have a part to play in letting ECE teachers know that actually we are interested, we want that information.
We also get parents emailing.
I'll email parents and say, tell me about your child, their interests, their strengths, their home language, friends that they have.
And some parents will write a couple of sentences.
Some parents will write 10 paragraphs.
That's fine.
It gives you an insight into that child.
And then they'll, you know, if they're wanting to, I'll say, if you would, you know, if you feel it would be beneficial, the centre can contact me.

portfolio final sheets where they're saying goodbye to the child that they can pass on to the school as well.
I think there's a misconception.
I think both sides want to work together.
It's how you make that happen and finding the time, which I think is really hard.
For early childhood, probably more potentially to get release to able to do that is harder.
Whereas primary school, there is more release worked into the day for teachers.
I think when you look at the ratios that you have in early childhood compared to primary, which, you know, in a new entrant class, it's 1 to 16, it's often 1 to 18, and some it's 1 to 24, 25, how...
do you as a teacher respond to every child's interests, strengths, provocations when you are that one person and you're also teaching the primary curriculum?
