Yeah.
Totally.
And I think, to be honest, at our school, we have things like on a Friday afternoon, once a fortnight, we have a big outdoor play day and we have slime and water and obstacle courses.
In very early childhood, you know, that whole afternoon is a big play afternoon with all of the children and teachers.
I think you can, and I think we do do it well, but it does... You know, as a teacher, you're thinking, this is the... You know, I've got to prepare for my reading, my writing, my maths, my art, my inquiry.
Now, OK, what play experiences am I going to put out for children that complement it?
So during maths time, you'll have maths play activities out.
You might have beads, and they might be threading beads.
You might have...
like loose parts out and they might be doing counting of that.
Now, they might not use that for counting.
They might think of something new and fabulous to do with it.
That is totally fine.
But it is hard because it's harder because actually you're thinking, you know, what other things can go there.
It's not just giving a worksheet and saying, go and do this follow-up activity.
Yeah.
No, I probably wouldn't because what I would say is, and we were laughing about it in the car, is actually five-year-olds, you can't make them sit on a table and chair and do spelling if they don't want to.
I can't even make my kids sit down and...
eat sitting at a table in a chair sometimes.
They will say no.
