So you don't get to come on TV now and pretend that because he's saying the quiet parts out loud, that this is something new.

This is something black people have long knew.

Well, after that, you got to buy the book to read the whole story.

But after that, he allegedly, according to two people who were familiar with what happened, he went to the president of the network at the time.

and complained that I basically called him a racist on television.

It was very awkward silence after that.

And so there was someone in the room who came to my defense.

But to find out the fallout, you have to read.

Love me.

He's not a nice man.

I would argue he's not a nice man.

And beyond being naive, his comment wasn't naive, it was offensive.

And I think that is the danger.

That is the danger with somebody like that.

So my immediate thought went to deep empathy and concern for the Black woman, or the Black girl, I should say, that he is attempting to raise.

You know, to put the mind of a Black child into the hands of a man like that is deeply concerning to me.

And I find there's danger in that.

And it shows the divide in not our experiences, but our intellectual curiosity, our curiosity about our fellow countrymen, of which he clearly has none, even a modest student.

of history understands the dynamics of the repetitiveness of what's happening today.

So yeah, I think that's part of my challenge, Dawn, when there are some white people who really like me.
