sort of been in the zeitgeist long enough that a lot of the writing or videos or podcasts that get attention are focused on the latest and greatest or what they might consider the new kid on the block, like a 5MEO DMT. podcast-host

Okay, everything's about 5MEO DMT because it can be crammed into 15 minutes and it's the businessman's path to God and all this stuff, which from a commercialization perspective, I understand. podcast-host

But at the same time, you have something that is already very well-researched podcast-host

that has actually been around a very, very long time. podcast-host

I want to say it's the 1920s when MDMA was first patented, and then it was shelved, and then the patent expired, and then Sasha Shulgin and his little lab and his tasting parties conjured up hundreds of psychedelics. podcast-host

If anyone has ever heard of 2C-B, 2C-E, you can thank Sasha Shulgin. podcast-host

but also resurrected MDMA, which basically replaced MDA as the underground therapist's tool. podcast-host

And I think MDMA is very underestimated, given how, broadly speaking, how manageable it is relative to many of the other psychedelics that we could discuss. podcast-host

And I think partially because it doesn't necessarily, I would say pretty typically, does not provide the 17th dimension shattered into stardust Technicolor grand finale fireworks show, which make for good stories, that it gets underestimated as a tool. podcast-host

because it's maybe not making the rounds at as many cocktail parties because it's unlikely you're going to be like, yeah, and then these dancing crocodiles with sapphire eyes came out and danced around me and so-and-so, which you'll certainly get if you're hanging out with your ayahuasca friends. podcast-host

So MDMA is really, I think, a tremendous, tremendous tool, given the risk profile, given the manageability of it relative to other things. podcast-host

Is it standardized or is it really up to the clinician and the patients to select the therapeutic modality? podcast-host

Is it standardized in perhaps in the way that, that maps was trying to standardize with like IFS informed dyads and things of this type? podcast-host

How many patients would you hope, not in a pie in the sky, best case, green lights all the way scenario, but in a kind of base case, right? podcast-host
