There's a tradition in
Pretty much all American diners are something that they call chop sauce.
And chop sauce is when you imagine how a b a guy who's making burgers operates, he's got a a bunch of little boxes in front of him.
It's called his mise en place, where he keeps all the bits that he might sprinkle on top of things.
And if you work from left to right, you've got ketchup, yellow mustard, mayonnaise.
Chopped onions, uh chopped pickles, maybe some capers.
Uh and then you've got some uh I don't know, paprika, pepper, salt and things like that.
If you take all of those things
And you mix them together, you come up with this remarkable pink sauce with tiny green bits in it, and it's exactly, exactly what the secret McDonald's sauce is.
It will be the secret it will be the secret sauce in pretty much any American diner right the way through the nineteen fifties.
