The audiobook was a fine representation because accents were done, which kind of adds from a London to a Liverpool accent.

Liverpool is where Laura's family is from and her formative experiences, but then that transition from a Liverpool young woman to a Londoner.

It was a bit more stark.

There was a different flavour to it, possibly more enjoyable because I didn't feel that herky-jerkiness, but the representation did give that kind of disconnect and it helped the experience for me.

Yeah, yeah, which works sometimes and at times it doesn't.

But Texas Phil, I'm reading The Last Picture Show.

But then he did Terms of Endearment as well, which is one of my favourite films of all time.

So, yeah, Larry's kind of fascinating.

He's not quite as bullish and machismo as I thought he might be, which I'm enjoying.

And Joe Boyd, the English music producer who did Richard and Linda Thompson, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, and he's written a book about his 60s production experiences.

But he was asked to write one about his 70s experiences and he said, well, why would I want to do that?

And now he's released this huge book, it's 1,000 pages or such, called The Roots of Rhythm Remain.
