There's this also tech technique in in the book where one of the characters, Sonny, finds
Pat's old diaries from twenty years ago and he's in ver a very similar situation of the as these characters are now.
And I and I'm wondering possibly around the time of the Magpie Wing, even though Pat's not a recurring character.
where the dream of having these communities whereby you can express art and and share information.
And the diaries are written in diary form.
Cause there are times when now autonomy reads they're not written of of a lofty style.
They're they're not conversational.
But then reading Pat's diaries compared to the way Max Easton writes literature.
I found that a really interesting technique and also writing about history, particularly about punk history, that's not talking about oh flip the glory days of mid seventies or late sixties.
It's about the early two thousands.
So this just read so contemporarily, I've never felt older in my life, I've never felt less in touch with music, and I'm really happy for it.

That it's asking uh w where where do we sit here?
And um you get that feeling through the novel 'cause I feel really self conscious reading it in a in an absolute proper way because I was thinking, oh the DIY draw is it posturing, is it is it sloganeering?
It doesn't go into why these these characters are so dedicated to this pursuit

where qualities and wanting to share, you know, let's build this ladder.
Let's not look to climb the ladder.
Uh it's been called the Western Sydney novel and um in an interview with Max I heard y t this morning, I was saying, Look, this Sydney compared to Melbourne
uh or another town where things are going on and there's not such a divide, I do wonder about that and uh look forward to meeting people on the street who will read this novel.
