This award recognizes an organization that has made a difference to the Cupertino community through volunteer service.
For decades, Cupertino Little League has brought the joy of baseball to more than 200 children
Entirely volunteer run, the league includes the Challenger Division, ensuring children of all abilities can experience the fun of the game.
Through events such as opening and closing ceremonies, ballpark outings, and community gatherings, Cupertino Little League has become a cornerstone of youth development and community connection.
Thank you to the
Little League, for your continued dedication and positive impact on our community.
Please accept this award.
I have the pleasure of having Sarah Shelke.
I started Mine for Youth, a mental health nonprofit, during my freshman year of high school, to help make mental health resources more accessible in underserved communities, and particularly among youth of color who may have a cultural stigma that prevents them from accessing mental health resources and services.
So, one of our programs called Heart Care is an initiative where we make mental health kids with comprehensive resources and items like.
Like a free therapy voucher from our partnership with BetterHelp and free self-care products from our partnership with Lush.
We started as a team of pretty much five volunteers.
We eventually started to promote our work through social media and we somehow got together so many other teens and youth from all over the country and now even all around the world.
So we went from a team of five volunteers to now almost 20,000 volunteers in over 70 countries.
Just her belief and her mad passion for a thing
Good evening everyone.
My name is Sarah Shelke and it is an honor to be recognized with the Crest Rising Star Award alongside the other recipients here this evening who have done outstanding work to make Cupertino a better place.
I would like to start off by thanking my teacher and one of my biggest supporters here today, Mrs.
Kavita Gupta, who I have been so fortunate to learn from.
She has taught me that ambition has no limits and that young people have the power to change the world.
