That comes with the experience level.
But what that means then from a rehearsal standpoint is that if they have nothing to remember, then it isn't necessary to hire me to come and stand there in that spot because we certainly won't practice your vows.
That's terribly unromantic.
That needs to be saved for the next day.
So if the pressure is off in that regard, then the rehearsal is essentially for the bridal party.
And just making sure that things look orchestrated and buttoned up and well put together.
And a lot of that is the experience level of the officiant or officiator, as you like to say.
Either one of those titles is absolutely appropriate.
But the experience level of that person allows things to occur in a way that even though it is scripted to a high degree, I know exactly what the couple wants for their ceremony.
They've provided me with the scripting that they want.
But it isn't, okay, now we're going to do this.
Now we're going to do that kind of thing.
If you have a basic understanding and an intuition about how a ceremony flow should go, then you move very, very gradually from one aspect to the next, one part of the ceremony to the next.
And it seems very seamless, even though in the experienced officiant's mind, it's turning the pages.
You have it orchestrated.
Well, my style, this is just strictly personal opinion, okay?
Because everybody has their own method and comfort level.
um i've been in um public speaking home you know my whole adult life so i'm 73 so that's about 50 years and consequently um i do not use material to read from for a ceremony i might have i will have a book it's a small book that kind of looks almost like a bible in a way even though it's not it's but in there are just little notes that remind me of what the couple have chosen for
for each aspect of the wedding.
And so as you're going along, as I'm going along, I'll just glance down just to make sure that I'm not going to be saying something when they've actually chosen something else.
