So that's the only thing that I use, but I do not read a ceremony.
I like to have really high level of eye contact
Not only with the couple, but also with the guests.
So if I'm, you know, welcoming them or letting them know what, you know, what the couple are experiencing, things like that, I'm looking at them, you know, in a proper way, you know, not just one person or this person, but, you know, trying to scan the crowd.
And but especially for the couple, I like it to be just like what we're doing right here.
You know, if I was providing a marriage ceremony for you right now, it'd be just like this.

We're just looking back and forth at each other.
And that just makes for a very comfortable ceremony.
Consequently, because of that, I don't use a book.
I also don't use a podium.
I don't use a music stand or a podium or a lectern.
It just gives, in my opinion, keep that in mind, it gives the wrong vibe.
That's very authoritative.
It's almost like I'm looking down on the couple and that kind of thing.
And that's not what my role is.
My role is to facilitate a meaningful connection between two people who have already given their hearts to each other.
So no one expects me to be like lecturing them, that type of things.
And a podium will oftentimes give that impression.
Another thing I don't do, if I can possibly avoid it, is stand higher than the couple.
