And modern day attention spans are 20 minutes.

And I don't think they're getting any longer.

That's for sure.

So just to respect the guests, because I feel they need to be involved in the ceremony.

You need to have their attention.

You don't want them...

feeling that they've been taken advantage of.

You don't want them to be bored.

You don't want them to resent the fact that they're sitting there at your wedding ceremony and just anxious to get out of the reception.

So if you can keep your guests engaged, that's very helpful for a couple.

And to try to honor that attention span is one of the best ways to do it.

Similarly, I have an awful lot of couples that say, hey, we want it short and sweet.

Just get us in and get us out.

And I try to coach them as well as be respectful to your guests who have come.

They're sitting there.

They've dressed up for this.

And a fair percentage of them are expecting certain things in your ceremony that they can witness because they're accustomed to that.

So consequently, we're going to try to keep it no less than 15 minutes.

Um, because anything less than that, and it starts the smack of being a courthouse wedding justice of the peace.

Right.
